Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why should I use a trellis for my plants?

There are many benefits to using trellises!

    • By lifting leaves and providing space for expansion, trellises enable optimal growth conditions for your plants, ensuring they can thrive to their fullest potential.
    • Trellises optimize sun exposure, maximizing the plants' ability to undergo photosynthesis efficiently, resulting in healthier and more vibrant foliage.
    • Through optimized airflow, trellises help prevent the development of diseases by reducing moisture buildup and strengthening root systems, contributing to overall plant health and vitality.
    • Trellises not only serve practical functions but also add a unique touch of style and personality to your plantscapes, enhancing the visual appeal of your indoor garden.
    • Ultimately, the use of trellises encourages the health and growth of your plants, providing essential support and creating an environment conducive to their well-being and development.
  • Why use bamboo?

Where do we even begin!? Bamboo has so many benefits:

    • Despite being technically classified as a type of grass, bamboo boasts the strength and durability akin to hardwood, thanks to its dense composition.
    • Bamboo's impressive regenerative properties mean it can regrow rapidly, making it a highly sustainable choice compared to alternative materials for trellises.
    • We appreciate bamboo's predictability, with consistent color, strength, and quality across our trellis designs, ensuring reliability and aesthetic coherence.
    • Bamboo's innate water-resistant properties eliminate the need for extensive polyurethane coating, simplifying maintenance while ensuring longevity in various indoor environments.

  • Will the stakes of the trellis rot or deteriorate in the soil over time?

Our trellis stakes are specially coated in rubber to resist rot and deterioration, ensuring long-lasting stability and support for your plants. You can trust that they will maintain their integrity even in moist soil environments.

  • How do I insert a trellis?

Ensure your plants soil is not overly compact. Moisten if necessary to loosen the dirt. Gently insert trellis into the dirt about 1 inch from the plants stem. Wiggle back and forth while applying pressure until stakes are submerged. Next, gently thread your plants leaves and stems through the trellis or simply prop the plant against the trellis. You can use ties or floral tape as needed. Lifting and supporting your plant will allow for more air flow and allow more leaves to access light!

  • Can I use a trellis for non-trailing plants?

While trellises are commonly associated with trailing or climbing plants, they can also benefit non-trailing plants by providing structural support and promoting upright growth.

  • Do floratrel trellises only work in soil?

Absolutely! In addition to basic potting soil, our versatile trellises can be used in various indoor growing mediums like coco coir, vermiculite, or perlite.

  • Are the trellises stable?

Our bamboo trellises are engineered for stability, featuring sturdy construction and secure anchoring with rubber-coated stakes. Whether supporting lightweight vines or more substantial foliage, you can trust our trellises to stand firm and provide reliable support for your indoor plants.
